How our predictions work

Every pick comes from the same model, so you can check our reasoning instead of trusting a name.

  1. Team strength from the table. We take each club's goals scored and conceded per game from the current league table. Early in the season the numbers are pulled towards the league average, so one big win does not distort them.
  2. Expected goals for the match. Home attack × away defence × the league's goal average, times a home-advantage factor (and the reverse for the away side).
  3. Chance of every score. A Poisson model turns expected goals into the chance of 0–0, 1–0, 2–1 and so on, with a small correction for low scores. Adding scores gives 1X2, double chance, Over/Under and GG/NG.
  4. One pick. We choose the most likely simple bet whose fair odds are at least 1.45; goal markets need at least 58%, because one goal decides them. If every option is shorter, we take the most likely bet that still pays at least 1.30.

What the model does not know: injuries, suspensions, rotation, weather, motivation. Always check team news before you bet. Picks are published in advance and never edited.
