The 2024/25 title was Sundowns' eighth in a row. Pirates ended that run in 2025/26. It was their first league title since 2011/12.
Biggest clubs and derbies
Mamelodi Sundowns have won the most league titles in the PSL era. Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are the other big names. Both clubs have huge support across the country.
The biggest derby is the Soweto derby: Kaizer Chiefs vs Orlando Pirates. The April 2026 league derby was a sold-out game at FNB Stadium. Derbies can be tense, so form often matters less than usual.

To analyse a PSL match, check the same basics you would for any league. No single factor decides a game.
- Form. Look at the last five or six league games, not only the result. See our team form guide.

The most popular PSL markets are the simple ones:
- 1X2: home win, draw or away win.
- Double chance: two results in one bet.
- Draw no bet: your stake comes back if it is a draw.
- Under 2.5 goals and over 2.5 goals: total goals in the match.
- GG/NG: whether both teams score.
